About Huobi

Huobi was founded in 2013 in China by Leon Li and rebranded to HTX in September 2023. It is headquartered in Seychelles after exiting mainland China in the wake of the 2021 crypto ban, and remains one of the larger global exchanges by trading volume.

It runs futures and swap markets of its own, but our integration covers its spot exchange — several hundred pairs quoted mostly in USDT, with the majors deep and the long tail thinner.

For automation, that makes it a straightforward spot venue: no leverage, nothing to liquidate, and a pair list broad enough that a rotation or grid strategy has somewhere to go beyond the top ten. Because the depth falls away quickly outside the majors, backtest with realistic slippage before you size a position on anything mid-cap.
